Camel is a unique and fascinating beast. One of the most remarkable camel facts is related to its ability to subsist in adverse weather conditions. Why Is It Popular As The Ship Of Desert?

Camel is exceptional in its ability to travel long distances with very little food and water. It can go for long periods without having anything to eat or drink. Camel possesses a very peculiar gait. They move with both the legs on the same side of the body at the same time. The most standing and distinctive physical feature in a camel is its hump. Camel Distribution And Habitat

The favourite camel habitat stretches across the Arab peninsula and Africa. Camels prefer dry deserts and arid lands to inhabit. Initially confined to Arab, this animal is now more prevalent in Somali, Sudan, Kenya and other African countries.

Diet

Camels are ruminants. They do not chew food but swallow it instead. When the food is scarce, they make the use of already existing food by regurgitating it. They are usually herbivores but dates, grass and grains are some of their favorite foods.The strong muscles in their mouth enable them to eat bones, thorny twigs or anything that comes in their way without hurting their mouth. Camel Predators And Threats
