What Do They Eat?

The monkey facts suggest that these cunning animals are mainly herbivores and consume various fruits to their heart content. A small one will satisfy its appetite with nuts, fruits, berries and insects whereas an enormous one would definitely go on hunting small birds and mammals.

Where Are They Found?

These animals inhabit jungles in massive numbers where they are seen swinging from one tree to another. Regions like South Asia, East Asia, Middle East and Africa have seen a tremendous growth in their population over the last few years. Some of its other habitats include tropical forests, islands and mountainous regions.

They Make Exceedingly Emotional Animals

These animals display a high degree of emotions such as love, grief, jealousy and possession as you can see in the pics of monkeys. They may yawn and grin to catch the attention of other members in the troop. Unlike other animals, monkeys are highly compassionate and express it by grooming each other. Funnily enough, a male monkey would sometimes urinate on others to show dominance.

Conservation Status

The world has seen a rapid decline in their numbers over the last few years. Human disturbance, Deforestation, hunting, persecution and natural disasters are some of the factors that have caused an irreparable damage to these species. The situation seems hapless, but a slight change of attitude on everyones part, can make a huge difference!
